Higoya

Higoya

Since the Edo period, this wooden building has had a rich history as a merchant house that sold hōmeishu liqueur and sea bream in miso paste.
The house’s former owner came from Higo Province, and so the building came to be known fondly as “Higoya” for many years. The various styles of the Edo, Meiji and Taisho periods have been left in the structure, and you can feel a unique atmosphere that has been handed down to the present day. The front desk, the SEKI rooms, shop and café are designed to be a place where anyone can easily visit and come together.
